Qur’an – A Tool for Reflection and Guidance

Yes, the Qur’an contains some verses that sound harsh or strong when read literally. But these words were never meant to spread fear or harm. Their true purpose goes deeper — to help us understand the psychology of the human mind.

When a person reads such verses, it reveals how their thoughts respond. Do they focus on the harshness, or do they seek the meaning and wisdom behind it? This reaction becomes a mirror — showing the state of one’s mind and heart.

Teachers and scholars can use this as a way to understand a student’s mindset. If someone is drawn only to the strict or violent part, it shows where guidance is needed. The teacher can then help the student reflect on the broader message — mercy, justice, patience, and the 99% goodness that fills the Qur’an.

That is why one should never learn the Qur’an without a peaceful Shaykh (teacher) — someone who carries both knowledge and calmness of heart. A peaceful Shaykh teaches not just the words of the Qur’an but its spirit — the love, wisdom, and mercy behind every verse.

In this way, even the strong words of the Qur’an serve a higher purpose: to test, teach, and guide. They are not about punishment — they are about understanding human psychology and directing the heart toward the right path.

The Qur’an, above all, remains a book of reflection and guidance, meant to shape not just our actions but also the way we think, feel, and grow as compassionate human beings.

Conclusion

By taking time — slowly, gently, and with patience — we can change the heart of a student into a light one. The Qur’an becomes a journey, not of fear, but of transformation — guiding every soul toward peace, balance, and divine light.
