Among the greatest teachings of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (رحمة الله عليه) — the Sultan of Awliya — is that
truthfulness (ṣidq) is the foundation of every spiritual path. Without it, no seeker can advance toward Allah ﷻ.

🌿 The Beginning of the Path

When asked what the first step on the path to God is, the Shaykh replied:
“Truthfulness is the root of all good. If you are truthful with Allah, He will open for you the doors of understanding and nearness.”

This means being true in our words, actions, and intentions — not pretending devotion, not hiding hypocrisy.
The seeker must be honest with his Creator before divine light can enter the heart.

💎 Truthfulness with Allah and with the Self

Truthfulness with Allah means keeping one’s promises — praying sincerely, being honest in earning, humble in success,
and repentant in error.
Truthfulness with oneself means recognizing one’s weaknesses, not justifying sins, and admitting when the ego seeks praise.

🌸 The Spiritual Reward of Truthfulness

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’an:

“O you who believe! Fear Allah, and be with those who are truthful.”

(Surah At-Tawbah, 9:119)

When the heart becomes truthful, it becomes pure. When it becomes pure, it receives divine mercy.
This is why all Awliya — especially Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (R.A.) — emphasized sincerity and truth
above miracles or fame.

🕊️ Living Their Teaching

To follow their path today, we must train our tongues to speak the truth,
purify our hearts from deceit, and ensure our actions reflect our faith.
Only then can we taste the sweetness of spirituality — the nearness of Allah ﷻ.

🕊️ സത്യസന്ധത — ആത്മീയതയുടെ താക്കോൽ

ഷൈഖ് അബ്ദുൽ ഖാദിർ അൽ ജീലാനി (റഹ്‌മതുല്ലാഹി അലൈഹ്‌) — അവ്ലിയാക്കളുടെ സുൽത്താൻ — അവരുടെ ഉപദേശങ്ങളിൽ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ,
സത്യസന്ധത (സിദ്‌ക്) എല്ലാ ആത്മീയ മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളുടെയും അടിസ്ഥാനമാണ്.
സത്യസന്ധത ഇല്ലാതെ ഒരാളും അല്ലാഹുവിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്രയിൽ മുന്നോട്ട് പോകാൻ കഴിയില്ല.

🌿 ആത്മീയ യാത്രയുടെ ആരംഭം

ഒരിക്കൽ ആരോ ഷൈഖിനോട് ചോദിച്ചു: “അല്ലാഹുവിലേക്കുള്ള മാർഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യപടി ഏതാണ്?”
ഷൈഖ് മറുപടി നൽകി:
“സത്യസന്ധതയാണ് എല്ലാ നന്മകളുടെയും വേര്. നീ അല്ലാഹുവോടു സത്യസന്ധനായാൽ, അവൻ നിനക്ക് ധാരണയുടെയും അടുപ്പത്തിന്റെയും വാതിലുകൾ തുറന്നു തരുന്നു.”

അതായത്, നമ്മുടെ വാക്കുകളിലും പ്രവൃത്തികളിലും ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങളിലും സത്യസന്ധത പുലർത്തുക — ഭക്തനായതായി നടിക്കാതെ, കപടത മറച്ചുവയ്ക്കാതെ.
ആത്മീയ പ്രകാശം ഹൃദയത്തിൽ തെളിയാൻ, ഭക്തൻ തന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനോടു സത്യസന്ധനായിരിക്കണം.

💎 അല്ലാഹുവിനോടും സ്വയത്തോടും സത്യസന്ധത

അല്ലാഹുവിനോടുള്ള സത്യസന്ധത എന്നത് അവനോടുള്ള വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കുന്നതും, പ്രാർത്ഥനകളിൽ സ്ഥിരത പുലർത്തുന്നതും,
സമ്പാദ്യത്തിൽ സത്യസന്ധതയും, വിജയത്തിൽ വിനയവും, തെറ്റുകളിൽ തൗബയും കാണിക്കുന്നതുമാണ്.
സ്വയം സത്യസന്ധമാകുക എന്നത്, സ്വന്തം ദൗർബല്യങ്ങളെ നേരിടുക, പാപങ്ങൾക്ക് ന്യായീകരണം കാണിക്കാതിരിക്കുക,
ആത്മാഭിമാനവും സ്വപ്രശംസയും തിരിച്ചറിയുക എന്നതുമാണ്.

“സത്യസന്ധനായിരിക്കുക, അതിൽ നിന്നാണ് സമാധാനം ലഭിക്കുന്നത്.
ഒരു കള്ളം നിമിഷനേരം ആശ്വാസം തരാം, പക്ഷേ സത്യം ശാശ്വതമായ വെളിച്ചം തരുന്നു.”

🌸 സത്യസന്ധതയുടെ ആത്മീയ പ്രതിഫലം

ഖുർആനിൽ അല്ലാഹു ﷻ പറയുന്നു:

“മാനവരേ! അല്ലാഹുവിനെ ഭയപ്പെടുക, സത്യസന്ധരോടൊപ്പം ഇരിക്കുക.”

(സൂറത് അത്തൗബ, 9:119)

ഹൃദയം സത്യസന്ധമായാൽ അത് ശുദ്ധമാകും; ഹൃദയം ശുദ്ധമായാൽ അതിൽ ദൈവകരുണ ഇറങ്ങിവരും.
അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് എല്ലാ വല്യന്മാരും — പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ഷൈഖ് അബ്ദുൽ ഖാദിർ അൽ ജീലാനി (റ.അ) —
അത്ഭുതങ്ങളെയും പ്രശസ്തിയെയുംക്കാൾ സത്യസന്ധതയും إخلاصും (സത്യനിഷ്ഠ) പ്രധാനമാക്കിയതും.

🕊️ അവരുടെ ഉപദേശം ജീവിതത്തിൽ നടപ്പാക്കുക

ഇന്ന് നാം അവരുടെ പാത പിന്തുടരണമെങ്കിൽ, നമ്മുടെ നാവിനെ സത്യത്തിലേക്ക് പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കണം,
ഹൃദയം കപടതയിൽ നിന്ന് ശുദ്ധമാക്കണം, നമ്മുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ വിശ്വാസത്തെ പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കണം.
അങ്ങനെ മാത്രമേ അല്ലാഹുവിന്റെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിന്റെ മധുരം — ആത്മീയതയുടെ യഥാർത്ഥ രുചി — നമുക്ക് അനുഭവിക്കാൻ കഴിയൂ.
